Firstly, on Wednesday we went to lunch at the members house that we usually go to and Hermana Farrow went to get something out of the fridge to help get the food ready and she opened the fridge and about killed over.. There was basically a full sized gutted pig.. head and everthing.. just “chillin” on the top shelf.. waiting to be all cooked up and what not. mmm mmm good. I obviously had to take a picture.. So yeah, moral of this story is if you want to have some pig for Sunday dinner make sure you store the pig on the main shelf of the fridge with your tomato salad. It’s the best way to keep it “fresh”. ya know what I’m saying?
On Thurdsay, we had our interviews with the President and our zone conference. WOW. I learned so much that I am not even going to try and tell you all everything but I will tell you one thing that stuck out to me: We were talking about having faith to be able to get people to baptism by the end of this week, like people that still had not had a date set for baptism. Everyone was kind of hesitant for saying that they believed it would happen and then this thought came into my head: Our Heavenly Father is a God of miracles. If we have the faith to do our part to get these people baptized this week it is going to happen because we have a God of miracles on our side. If it is true and if God really is a God of miracles we are going to baptize. There is no option. The only factor is whether or not we want to believe it or participate. It was a cool thought and I hope I explained it well enough. Anyway, thursday was a day of learning and I was so filled with the spirit and ganas to get everything done in the way the Lord wanted.
Friday was Friday the 13th no? It is supposed to be an unlucky day right? Well, I am here to tell you that Friday the 13th ate mine and hermana farrows dust. 🙂 WE HAD THE BEST DAY EVER!! In the morning we studied and planned so hard and with purpose behind every action. We were prepared for every lesson and every hour and ever moment of the day. We were prepared for war you could say. We went contacting in the morning and we clapped a house where we met this lady who came out and just kissed us and hugged us and squished our faces and just.. wow.. folks, i was really comfortable with it all.. I’m soft serving that.. I felt so violated. haha. Not in a bad way but in a “i’m a missionary and oh my goodness why am I being hugged” kind of way. But it ended up being awesome and we now have a potential investigator. We then got stopped by a television guy who is the spokesman on channel 10 if anyone gets the Argentine TV channels in the states. He wanted to know about what we do and about our church. No, he idd not interview us on TV, that isn’t allowed, we were literally talking to him and his coworker through the car window.
We then had a lesson with Karen, a young girl, after lunch and oh my goodness the spirit was so strong! She is 16 and she wants to have the feeling of the spirit in her life and she wants so badly to go to church. She is 16, folks! Never have I met a 16 year old with such a strong desire to be close to Jesus Christ. She is, as we call them, a golden contact.
That night we had a lesson with Ana and we decided to talk about the spirit and just how she is doing. The lesson was going great and then her mom, Estela, and her brother and sister-in-law walked in, Nico and Nancy. I honestly thought that the lesson was going to go down hill but Hermana Farrow and the spirit had a different plan. We plugged in a video that is called Gracias a Él and watched it with them. (if you have not seen this video please go watch it). During this amazing video about Jesus Christ I look over to see that all them are crying. It was as if the room was burning with fire. The spirit was so strong and I know that they could feel it and they knew it as well. After this short 5 minute video we asked them what caught their attention and Ana said the fact that through Jesus we have 2nd chances, Estela said the family and Nancy said just the reality of Jesus Christ. The spirit was amazingly strong.
All of these things might sound small and simple but don’t the scriptures tell ust hat through small and simple things great thigns will be brought to pass???
This week I learned that God works through the spirit and that without the spirit and without faith we can’t be intruments in the hands of God. But with the spirit and with faith.. we can move mountains. I truly believe that with all my heart.
Also! Keep having family home evening with your families! It is a great way to learn and share together! They help us be united in Christ as families. 🙂
I love you all so much and I love this gospel and the opportunity I have to be an instrument in the hands of God here in Argentina. Thank you for the prayers and support and for looking forward with an eye of faith.
John 16:33 “Be of good cheer; for I have overcome the world”.
Nos vemos en la próxima semana folks!
I’ll See You Soon,
