Wow. What a marvelous week we have had here in Cervantes!
On Wednesdays we have lunch with a less active member and his Marido. And we told them that we would help them paint their house becuase they needed help. We went and literally painted their house and each other. Lujan (la marida) was covered in paint. Like just everywhere. So Hna Farrow wanted to take a picture but Lujan threated her that if she took a picture she would paint her face with the paint roller. Needless to say it went like this: Hna Farrow took a foto and then received and paint roller full of white paint to the face… hahah. It was hysterical.
We had a really interesting lesson this last Saturday with an old investigator and her 5 daughters. In the beginning we seemed to be just defending ourselves, both her and us, and just fighting with words. We needed to calm down to be able to let the spirit in. Finally, we all took a breath and just calmed. The spirit dove in and completely took over the lesson. The daughter, Kathy, began crying and her heart was touched. It was amazing to see the difference that the spirit makes. The spirit literally can change people. At the beginning of the lesson she was hard and stern and stubborn but when the spirit was able to enter, that all changed. She listened and let her heart open. It was amazing. The spirit is key!!!
Anyta, who was baptized last week, was confirmed as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints this Sunday. Wow. What a cool experience. She was soooo excited to recieve the gift and guide of the Holy Spirit. Was a special moment.
Well, not much more to say, lo siento, folks! Mostly because I don’t have a lot of time!
I learned about God this week, that he touches the hearts of people through the spirit and that he gives us this great gift of having a companion (the spirit) to accompany us through this trechorous world. I love my Father in Heaven.
Thank you all for your letters, words, emails and prayers!
Nos vemos en un ratito! 🙂
I’ll See You Soon,
Hermana Janessa Houston
